I am the women’s health reporter at the Texas Tribune, where I cover the state’s near-total abortion ban, the maternal mortality crisis, LGBT issues and rural health care. I have also reported extensively on the conservative takeover of the federal courts in Texas, and contribute to the Tribune’s political coverage.

Before moving to Texas, I was a reporter with the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting, where I reported and hosted the Peabody-nominated podcast, Dig. Season one looked at how Louisville police failed to properly investigate sexual assault cases, and led Louisville Metro Council to call a hearing on our findings. Season two, reported with Scripps-Newsy in the wake of the police shooting of Breonna Taylor, dug into Louisville’s previous failed attempts to reform its police department.
I previously worked at public radio stations in Pennsylvania and Missouri, and in 2014, was a Kroc Fellow at NPR.
In college, I reported across Central America, covering the emerging maternal health crisis in Nicaragua and El Salvador for the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and interning for the Nicaragua Dispatch, an English-language newspaper based in Granada, Nicaragua.
I have a degree in Political Communication from The George Washington University, where I graduated with honors.
